AC installation is the process of sizing, selecting, and fitting a new central air conditioning system to a home. In Metro Atlanta, Georgia, that means accounting for our long, humid summers, older housing stock, and the wide range of home sizes across the area. A properly installed system keeps your home comfortable, runs efficiently, and avoids the cycle of repairs that comes with an aging or undersized unit.
At All Purpose Heating & Air Conditioning, we handle everything from the load calculation that determines the right system size to the final startup check before we leave your driveway. We are locally owned, licensed and insured, and we have been doing this work in this area for more than 35 years. That is not a tagline. It means our technicians have seen the ductwork in homes built in the 1970s, the electrical panels that need upgrading before a new system goes in, and every other complication that shows up between an estimate and a finished job.
We also offer financing on complete HVAC systems, so a failing unit does not have to mean a financial emergency. Whether your current system is simply worn out or you are adding square footage that the old equipment cannot handle, we can help you figure out what makes sense and get it done.
Most homeowners do not think about their AC until something goes wrong. But there are specific signs that point toward replacement rather than another repair, and catching them early saves money and a lot of miserable summer days.
Ignoring these signs does not make them go away. It usually means a breakdown on the hottest day of the year, when every HVAC company in Georgia is already booked.
A lot of companies will show up with a unit and swap it out. That is not how we work. The right installation starts before any equipment is ordered.
Load calculation first. We calculate the correct system size for your home using its square footage, ceiling height, insulation levels, window placement, and how the house sits on the lot. Skipping this step and guessing at size is one of the most common reasons a new system short-cycles, runs constantly, or cannot hold temperature on a hot afternoon.
Equipment selection. Once we know the size, we walk you through your options, including efficiency ratings. Higher SEER ratings mean lower operating costs over time. We explain the trade-offs so you can make a decision that fits your budget and your priorities.
Removal of the old unit. We pull the existing condenser and indoor coil and handle the old refrigerant properly. The pad gets inspected and leveled if needed before the new equipment goes in.
Installation of the condenser and coil. The outdoor condenser and the indoor evaporator coil are set, leveled, and secured. Refrigerant lines are connected and checked. Electrical connections are made to the disconnect, the breaker, and the thermostat.
Startup and testing. We charge the system, verify refrigerant pressure, check airflow at the registers, confirm the thermostat is communicating correctly, and run the system through a full cooling cycle before we consider the job done. You should not have to call us back the next day because something was missed at startup.
We install and replace AC systems throughout our service area, including communities like Alpharetta, Conyers, Peachtree City, Newnan, and McDonough. Every job is handled by the same licensed and insured technicians, whether the home is close to Atlanta or at the far edge of the counties we cover.
What drives the cost and timeline of an installation varies from one home to the next. System size and efficiency rating are the starting point. A larger home or one with multiple zones requires more capacity, and a higher SEER rating affects the equipment cost. Neither of those is a reason to avoid the conversation. They are just factors we account for in your estimate.
Ductwork condition matters more than most homeowners expect. A new system pushed through leaking or undersized ducts will never perform the way it should. If we find problems during the installation, we will tell you what they are and what it takes to fix them. Electrical capacity is another variable. Older panels sometimes need an upgrade before a modern high-efficiency system can be connected safely.
Removal and disposal of the old equipment is part of the job. We handle it, and we do not leave the old condenser sitting in your yard.
